Youth 4 A Better World
4 min readJan 2, 2021

The year 2020 has finished and has changed with 2021. We have gone through all the problems, challenges, joys, sorrows, laughter, and disappointments. And at the start of this good year I would like to share my 4 resolutions for better mental health. I hope you can read and understand this message of love!

Focus On What We Can Clearly Control

Often times we worry or fear excessively in thinking about something that actually doesn’t necessarily happen or doesn’t even happen like that, but we seem to imagine the event according to our thinking. This is what often causes severe stress to depression in our day, so starting today, focus on what we can control, what has not happened, we don’t need to worry because everything has its own time. Our job is only to focus on organizing and preparing ourselves so as not to mess or drop when facing it.

Keeping a Distance from Toxic People

We all know very well that an unhealthy environment is effective in having a bad impact on our mental health and this is also one of the biggest factors why 14–20 year olds often fall into things that are not good or inappropriate. Many of them have the wrong choice of friends, play environments, associations, story places, and so on, this forming their mindset in the wrong direction.

So, this needs to be changed as early as possible before the bad effects get deeper. Starting today, we must also be able to limit and filter our interactions. What is good, what is bad, what is appropriate, what is not, we must all slowly master in order to maintain our physical and mental health.

Get Used To Opening Up & NOT Harboring Problems

I really understand that many of us are reluctant to share our problems or difficulties with other people, whether it’s because we can’t trust people, or are we afraid of their insults, and other reasons. For me, that is a natural thing because considering the habits of people today who like to tell stories or tell other people’s problems, so it’s only natural. But indirectly we have pushed ourselves so deep that we can no longer recognize ourselves.

This is the most dangerous stage. We can no longer distinguish whether this is happiness or sadness because everything feels the same, of course this will also make us prefer to be alone and worse lose our senses. This is an important point that must be considered for all people because this is the most important step in maintaining our health and mental balance.

Learn To Make Your Own Circle

Last and for me the most important of the 3 points above is learning to limit yourself and create a circle of people who like to encourage you. Sometimes we are always forced by circumstances to answer “yes” to something we don’t like and what is sad is that we are also forced to live it just because we are afraid of losing friends, popularity, social media followers, and so on. Are we aware that it really kills our conscience? Sometimes I ask, what made them so cruel to themselves? Why are they punishing themselves who don’t even know what their fault is?

It’s not a good habit and we really need to fix it so we don’t sink too deep into something that’s bad for us. It doesn’t matter if we say “no” to what we really don’t like or don’t like for us and the crowd. Life isn’t just about satisfying other people’s hearts until we forget that we ourselves have a heart to protect. Starting this year, fix what can be fixed, maintain what can be maintained, live what we should live and don’t need to create dramas that will only make it difficult for ourselves. Enjoy the new month at the start of the new year!
